About the Pharmacist-in-Charge : Melissa Blackburn
Melissa is a dedicated pharmacist that is passionate about providing exceptional patient care. She believes that every patient is “somebody’s someone” and strives to treat each individual with the compassion they deserve. She values her experience in long-term care pharmacy as it has allowed her to make an impact on the lives of patients, even when she may not have the opportunity to see them face to face each day.
Melissa has been with Mac’s LTC since 2021 and is honored to work alongside a tremendous team. She believes building a strong team amongst colleagues within the pharmacy as well as building relationships with our communities is essential in providing the best care for patients. By working together, we are able to ensure that the medications patients receive are accurate, safe, and effective.
In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending quality moments with family and exploring the great outdoors with her dog, Nala. She’s always up for a new adventure and loves to travel and discover new destinations!
Melissa holds a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from South College and Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Virginia – Wise.
